I agree, that it was a stupid move, but that has nothing to do with whether he did it or not. But if he did not do it, then he probably should have picked up the phone and contacted the White House, to resolve any “misunderstandings”. Yet neither Assad, nor the Russians made any diplomatic attempt to do so. Why do you suppose that is? You really should spend more time (killing time origin) thinking it through, than just (just in case) believing whatever kooky conspiracy theory you hear about on the internet, simply because you want to it to be true. There are enough established facts, that are not in dispute, that it is not too difficult to have a very good idea of what happened. At least enough to be reasonably certain that it was not jihadists or rebels or any other rag tag group of individuals.
